Bradford Textile Society runs a prestigious Design Competition
each year which is open to independent knitwear designers and students.
The competition has become one of the largest textile design competitions in the UK and continues to go from strength to strength each year in terms of numbers, breadth of participants and quality of entries. Plus it has a total prize fund of around £11,000.
It is unique in its breadth, having 15 different categories to cover a diverse range of textile disciplines and specialisms, as well as a number of special awards. In addition to the prize money and certificates there is the opportunity of industry placements and a visit to Premiere Vision Paris for four of the successful winners.
Prizes are presented annually at an ceremony, which this year is to be held on 6th May at the exciting new Dye House Gallery at Bradford College with the keynote speaker, Linda Watson, the renowned fashion writer and journalist.
This year also features a special award from the Knitting and Crochet Guild
which will be chosen from among all the knit categories.
