The largest, award winning wool and fibre festival, a must for knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners and dyers. Everything from sheep, fleece, yarn, equipment, workshops and inspiration in abundance.

Lace knitting can look difficult and complicated, but this shawl has been designed by Judith to be simple and easy to knit from a detailed pattern. The addition of beads provides that extra something, whilst opening a whole new world of possibilities for personalising your knits if you’ve never tried it before. During the workshop we will explore simple lace stitches & techniques which can be used for applying beads to your knitting. We will also look at reading lace knitting charts.

Join Liz on Thursday 8th May for an informal 2-hour Knitting session where Improvers will make a headband or narrow scarf. You will learn to: • Combine a variety of stitches for texture, including reverse stocking stitch • Knit simple cables • Join a seam using a neat bind-off technique, rather than stitching up • Work with chunky or super chunky yarn of your choice Materials: 100g Chunky or Super Chunky yarn provided for your lesson. Start on the workshop, finish at home, or you can attend our regular Craft and Chatter sessions for further support, on the 3rd Thursday afternoon monthly.
