During these classes you will learn to knit basic cables, then develop your skills by making a variety of double cables, travelling stitches, plaited and braided cables.

Intarsia is one of the most satisfying ways of knitting with colour. Once mastered the creative possibilities are as endless as your imagination! It is perfect for Christmas jumpers, but also for many other projects as well. We will work a sample square with a ‘festive’ design (good practice) using the intarsia method and then add more detail using Swiss Darning (Duplicate Stitch). By the end of the workshop you will be ready to tackle the ultimate festive garment! Materials included.

 The Sockmatician (Nathan Taylor) takes Double Knitting to another level with this advanced workshop! You will learn new techniques to enhance your projects.

You need to be a confident knitter and will need to practice the ‘two colour long tail cast on’ before the workshop. Bring 20g of each of 2 colours, long with 3.75mm and 4mm needles.

As you can see from the picture, Double Knitting can be as wild as you want to make it. The beauty of this shawl is that you get 2 versions to wear, one on one side and one on the other!

Over four weeks, you will create interesting and beautiful crochet fabrics using colour stitches. Learn techniques including chevrons, waves, spike stitches, tapestry crochet and embroidered patterns. Written instructions and charts will be provided, as well as individual help.

Crochet all over Pinterest and the fashion pages. On this four week course you will make a different project each week; each one building on the skills you have learnt. We make simple ‘Mug Hugs’, slippers, bowls and of course classic ‘Granny Squares’. We use a variety of yarns and hook sizes. All yarns, hooks and patterns are included in the fee. Once started on this satisfying craft, you will be able to make all sorts of gifts for friends and family, but then again, you could just keep them!

Come along to this fun workshop hosted by Dedri Uys from ‘Look What I made’, creator of the amazing Sophie’s Universe crochet along blanket.

Under Dedri’s watchful eye you will work through this lovely crochet motif using a beautiful stonewashed yarn. Techniques include back post stitches, colour changing, popcorn and cluster stitches.

Juliet Bernard was taught to knit by her German grandmother at the age of 5 or 6 using the continental method on circular needles. For her this is a very natural way to knit and very fast. She was the editor of The Knitter for 5 years and now works exclusively in the craft industry as well as teaching knitting. Juliet's blog is hosted on Huffington Post.

Mastering the technique of continental knitting will allow the knitter to progress to two- handed Fair Isle which will make your stranded knitting projects much neater. During the workshop you will make a fair isle hat combining both continental knitting and fair isle techniques.

Yarn, refreshments and a finger buffet lunch will be provided on the day.
